So Furniture Mark isn’t our biggest fan…

Today we went on our first family outing (since Fredrik’s arrival) in pursuit of a La-Z-Boy recliner. That’s right. We’re going full on hillbilly here (no offense to La-Z-Boy lovers) because we have tried the Pinterest Perfect Pottery Barn Gray Nursery Chair, and 15 minutes in it will have anyone wanting to phone their chiropractor. Mother nature is cruel

We don’t give Joel much screen time; however, on Super Bowl Sunday we made an exception and turned on the television. Prior to the Super Bowl we caught part of the Puppy Bowl, or I guess a story about the origins of it (on Animal Planet?), which was wonderful, because Joel LOVES puppies. Backyard bliss

Finch is here!

Our sweet Fredrik Christopher arrived safe and screaming at 8:26am at 37+0 yesterday, Christmas Eve morning. He weighed in at 9 pounds, so a whole 12 ounces heavier than Joel. He is so precious and looks more like Matthew and Mark than he does Joel and me. He is doing really well and hasn’t needed any help breathing or NICU intervention. He had some initial problems with blood sugar levels, but these have since resolved. Continue reading

Third not second; three not two

Oh hi there. Since I last posted, I’ve been (surprisingly) successfully knocking out my massive to-do list, as well as just trying to survive. For those interested, Finch seems to be doing well. Also, I flirted with a late-onset gestational diabetes diagnosis for a few days, but, alas, after about eleven finger pricks to take my blood sugars, it’s been determined that I don’t have it. So just another stop on my maternal fetal medicine schooling rotation, I guess. Continue reading
